Premio Dardos Award

TuesdayInSilhouette has awarded me and my blog with a Premio Dardos Award, which is way cool. Thanks! I humbly accept. I also want to say that I really enjoy TuesdayInSilhouette--she reads wonderful books, writes beautifully, and posts gorgeous artwork. It's always a pleasure to visit her blog.

The aim of the Premio Dardos Award is to acknowledge the values that every blogger shows in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.

The Rules?

Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link.
Pass the award to 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment.

I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to blogging, but I have really loved discovering new blogs and becoming one of the regulars at my favorites. The world is really full of kindred spirits.

So, drumroll please, I officially grant the Premio Dardos Award to the following worthies:

Of Books and Bicycles: a wonderful blog in which I am always finding new books for the TBR stack, with a great balance of fiction and non-fiction. Sharp, clear writing that is a pleasure to read.

Austenblog: I visit daily for the latest Austen news, reviews, observations, and camaraderie. Always enjoyable, occasionally provocative.

AustenProse: Reviews of the latest Austen-related and Austen-inspired books, with occasional forays into movies and DVDs. Well-written, lovely, and interesting.

The Mile High Eater: Jonathan and Barb provide detailed, insightful reviews for restaurants all over the country with a focus on the Denver area. I especially love the foodie photos.

Novel Readings - Notes on Literature and Criticism: My latest find, Rohan Maitzen is an English professor, critic, and reader whose postings on literature, authors, and lit crit are absolutely wonderful. Her blog is filled with articles I want to read, and I really enjoy getting a glimpse into her current writing projects.

A Work in Progress - Adventures in (mostly) reading, and (sometimes) needlework and other artsy endeavors...: this is one of the first book blogs I found and is rich in thought and always inspiring. I love the range of topics that are covered.

Bronte Blog: my source of all news happening on the Bronte front, from Haworth to book reviews to movie rumours to blog links, this is the definitive source.

Jane Austen’s World - This stunning blog brings Jane Austen, her novels, and the Regency period alive through food, dress, social customs, and other 19th century historical details. I could read this site all day--well written, interesting, lovely.

I did a fair amount of Googling to see whether I could learn more about the award, and all that I could find were other bloggers who had received it. Not even a Wikipedia entry! Let me know if anyone knows more about who started it.
