English Heritage has awarded the Gaskell House with £260,000 for much needed restoration.
Watch this BBC clip--it's heartbreaking that the Gaskell house was allowed to fall into such disrepair, and it's tangible evidence that she was unjustly forgotten as a major Victorian author for over a hundred years.
