I completely agree with you in that the scene in The Watsons where he dances with Emma is delicious! I've read reviews of a lot of Joan Aiken's Austen-based works and they seem to be a mixed bag. I read Mansfield Revisited, a sequel to MP, and I thought that one was really good so I am not giving up on Joan Aiken just yet. <br /><br />Re. The Watsons, I also agree with you that it's not Austen's best stuff. Since her books took so long to publish I think they benefited from lots of reworking and improvement which this unfinished piece didn't get, though there was definitely lots of potential in the story.<br /><br />Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.
