It makes me want to bang my head against a wall, one would think humans would have made some progress in the last hundred years. I recall Darrow being the hero of Inherit the Wind -- some of the speeches are excellent ... and good for Scopes teaching real science.... perhaps he's like an old-time Fauci. hathecuecardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08870323589682197091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-48124818858255550492021-06-17T00:59:38.024-06:002021-06-17T00:59:38.024-06:00Great review and agree this play is very relevant ...Great review and agree this play is very relevant to what's going on today. If you get a chance the Spencer Tracy Frederic March version is a must see. Both these actors were great in their roles and March portrayal of Matthew Harrison Brady is particularly good. I don't know how he is portrayed in the actual script but the way March portrays him he is certainly a religious fundamentalist, loves the limelight but there is something touching about him too. One reason I like reading classics is that it often highlights just how we have NOT changed in the intervening years. Ruthiellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03871834571645928819noreply@blogger.com
