I know I was very bitter as a child because grapes were my favorite fruit and my parents explained why we were boycotting and I was too young to care. I saw this book in my grade school library and checked it out, thinking it would explain their reasoning but I am sure I did not get past the first chapter. Maybe it would work as an audio book on a long trip?CLMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03595294217111602231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-16896336370116045312020-10-12T14:42:04.161-06:002020-10-12T14:42:04.161-06:00I love when books get better as we age. But I think I was too young to give Grapes of Wrath its due and I am so glad you loved the book and I am definitely going to give it a reread because Grapes of Wrath has much to say about our times right now,Kathy's Cornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03967595794483824444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-70510328028315219622020-10-12T08:10:24.517-06:002020-10-12T08:10:24.517-06:00Oh such a classic. I would like to read it again so many decades later. I guess there's a new biography out this month of Steinbeck ... such an interesting author. Love his books too.thecuecardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08870323589682197091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-22327709378232060022020-10-12T02:36:44.629-06:002020-10-12T02:36:44.629-06:00I read it in High School too, in the eighties. The poor Joad family, and many others, just couldn't get a break! But I've been considering reading it again as you've done.Paula Vincehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02079952414990463270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-16330365331789626002020-10-11T17:24:22.607-06:002020-10-11T17:24:22.607-06:00I have actually never read this. I also think that the John Ford movie was one of the greatest films ever made.

High school readings soured so many people on great books.
