I didn't know about the Chronicle of Lanercost, but it does seem that this part of the country was constantly being suppressed.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-47497434392965561372017-07-15T21:44:05.481-06:002017-07-15T21:44:05.481-06:00More fun...despite the rain! It is one of the main documentary sources for the Battle of Bannockburn and Edward IIs wars against the Scots. The Priory was right in the way whenever the Scots raided into England so had a torrid time.Spencerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12804997221198019165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-55294781636016688052017-07-15T10:40:49.414-06:002017-07-15T10:40:49.414-06:00Most people do the end-to-end in 5-7 days, but tha...Most people do the end-to-end in 5-7 days, but that means 15-20 miles a day, which also means you don't stop at the forts and museums and pubs and take pictures and try to identify birds, all of which we like to do. We are doing the wall in 11 days, including one layover day at the top because there is so much to see. Most people see the wall on their second day.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15714418.post-7681098114244587822017-07-15T09:33:37.420-06:002017-07-15T09:33:37.420-06:00What an interesting trip you are having.
